Eaton internal gas liquid separators use centrifugal motion to force the entrained liquids and solids to the outer wall of the separator where they collect and fall to a bottom drain. Eaton centrifugal separators remove 99% of particles and liquid droplets 10 microns or larger. Drawn from the clean and dry center of the separator, the exit gas stream is free of condensate, which corrodes exposed metal components. The Type 60-I centrifugal separator has an upflow configuration and the 70-I has a downflow configuration, downstream installation improves the effectiveness of heat exchangers, intercooler and aftercooler equipment, steam turbines.
